This game comes at a crucial time for both teams.

Leicester have not started the season well, disappointing in both the Premier League and the Europa League thus far. They’ve won only two of their nine games in those two competitions, and none of the last six. They’ve lost three Premier League games and even their two wins came with a hint of luck. If Adama Traore could finish as well as he can dribble, they’d have lost 2-1 to Wolves on the opening day rather than sneaking out a 1-0 victory.  VAR saved them from a late Norwich equaliser which would have given the Canaries a deserved point. Recent draws against Burnley and Crystal Palace have been very concerning and defensively they have been largely terrible this season. Jannik Vestegaard has, to the surprise of nobody who watched him play at any point in his career, struggled to settle in and hampered their ability to play a high line because he has the mobility of a house.

United will be without Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane for the next few weeks and will therefore have to rely on Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof, as well as Phil Jones. It’s not nearly as bad as the injury crisis suffered by Liverpool last season, especially considering Maguire and Varane have not been ruled out for the season, but could be a breaking point for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. United face a very difficult next six games and even to this point have not impressed outside of their opening day demolition of Leeds United. The fit of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes continues to be ugly, and the team chemistry since the introduction of Cristiano has not been good. Cristiano has scored goals, but United have not looked good in any game he has played in.

It’s a bigger game for Leicester than United, at home while sitting in the bottom half of the league and without a win in six games across the Premier League and Europe. They have more than enough attacking talent to take advantage of United’s injury in defence, but if their own defence plays like it did against Burnley and Palace they will find it very difficult to keep United out.

Brentford again. Just because.

The Bees have made a hugely impressive start to the season with three wins and three draws against only one defeat. Moreso than the results, it’s the performances and brave style of play that has really caught the eye in their first season in the Premier League. Even in their sole defeat, to Brighton, they played well enough to win the game and undoubtedly deserved a draw from the game. Leandro Trossard’s last minute winner was a gut bunch that could easily have dented their confidence but they came straight back to beat Wolves 2-0 at Molineux, a scoreline that flattered the hosts. Ivan Toney was particularly impressive on the day, as he has been in the subsequent draw with Liverpool and the 2-1 win over West Ham. Toney has taken to the Premier League effortlessly and is already drawing the attention of the top clubs. He’s yet to show any weakness to his game and looks versatile enough to adapt to the styles of any big six side. If he continues to perform the way he has, Brentford will cash in at a large price.

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are the reigning Champions of Europe. They’re also one of the most boring teams in Europe right now. Thomas Tuchel inherited a team in the bottom half of the Premier League who were underperforming massively and seemed unsure of how to defend. Tuchel immediately implemented an outstanding defensive structure and system that completely changed their fortunes and resulted in a top four finish and a second spell as caretakers of “Big Ears”. The attack stuttered under him though and the decision to sign Romelu Lukaku was the result. With the high caliber players, Mount, Havertz, Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi, Ziyech and Werner, all available to play off the big Belgian striker the assumption was that Tuchel would be able to raise his attack to a level that matched his defense. He undoubtedly has far more talent in attack than defence and made his name as an attack minded coach, in particular at Borussia Dortmund. Thus far it hasn’t clicked and Tuchel has perhaps been a little too cautious in his approach, though results speak for themselves and Chelsea currently sit top of the league.

With Fulham back in the Championship, Chelsea were in need of a local rival in West London. Brentford’s arrival into the top flight is perfectly timed and the Bees will provide a tough test for the Blues this Saturday. Brentford won’t fear the badge on the front of the opposition shirts, or the names on the back of them. They play with the confidence of all teams being equal, and if Ivan Toney is at his best they will cause Chelsea plenty of problems.

NEWTOT Premier League VPN IPTV

“It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new (lease of) life for the Toon………and their fans are feeling good”.

The Mike Ashley era on Tyneside is finally over and the Saudi’s have landed. The Premier League, showing their true colours, gave the green light to takeover of Newcastle United by the Saudi Public Investment Fund after the Saudi Arabian government, conveniently led by the same man who overseas the PIF, agreed to lift their ban on beIN Sport broadcasting inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. There may also have been some compensation involved. Human Rights violations be damned, once the financial partners aren’t losing out the Premier League are happy. None of this is the fault, of course, of the Newcastle fans who are thrilled to see the back of Ashley. They have moved on from that nightmare and are now enjoying dreams of Antonio Conte in the dugout and a front pair made up of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland banging in goals in front of an 80,000 crowd at a brand new stadium. Brakes may need to be pumped. Newcastle are dreadful, it will be years before they can attract names like that, or enough fans to warrant a new stadium. They need to focus on staying in the division first and foremost.

Tottenham may well be hoping to hear from Newcastle next summer if they decide to move on from Harry Kane and want to seek the highest possible price. If Toon want to make a splash, then signing the England captain for £150mil and a contract of £500,000 would certainly be a good place to start, and would allow Tottenham to revitalise their team at the same time. Spurs have had a strange season so far, winning their first three games before losing three on the bounce. They picked up a win last time out against Aston Villa to steady the ship but questions are already being asked of Nuno, the manager they got stuck with rather than the manager they wanted when they embarked on the endeavour of replacing Jose Mourinho last spring. Kane’s performances have been a bigger issue than the manager, with the striker looking unfit and not seeming to give his all for the cause. For Tottenham to have any sort of successful season they will need Kane to shed a few points and get his act together.

St. James’ Park will be bouncing this Sunday. There will be a party mood as the locals wave goodbye to Ashley and say hello to the Saudis. It’s hard to say which they are more excited about, though you would imagine that the only replacement for Ashley they might not have welcomed with open arms is Donald Trump. Spurs make the long journey north hoping to be party poopers, and with the knowledge that no matter who’s sitting in the owners box they still have a much better team than Newcastle.
